If you think slam is all the same, and are bored by it, then this album may change your mind. Atrocities from Beyond is one of the records that got me listening to the genre. Metallurgical Fire

An eclectic but incredibly well-integrated blend of traditional death metal, melodeath, black metal, progressive, and even a bit of folk (with the added bonus of audible and tasty bass guitar). The album has a consistent, pulverizing momentum punctuated by the rare acoustic passage or catchy chorus/refrain. Overall an unbelievably mature first offering from an up-and-coming band to watch.
